Being found on page one of the major search engines is one of the number one marketing techniques you can use.
It’s all about bringing targeted traffic and visitors to your site for your niche. Not only that but it is often one of the least costly kinds of advertising even if you hire an expert to do it for you.
For example a Toronto search engine optimization company may charge a few hundred dollars a month for their services. In comparison you would easily spend upwards of a thousand dollars trying to get similar results from paper ads. And optimizing your site can give it much a broader exposure.
You don’t always need to hire an expert because you can do a number of things yourself if you are willing to put in the effort.
Before you even begin to optimize your site you need to think about which keywords you wish to rank for.
Think like a customer to discover keywords phrases they might use to find a similar product or service. The more you can think of the better. These may then be plugged into on-line tools like Google’s keyword research tool or on sites such as Wordtracker or Wordze.
Essential Tips On How To Become An SEO Expert SEO is Hard ? No
These sites can give you an estimate on how often these terms are searched for. If you find some terms that have a great number of monthly searches then it is a good indication that being on page one for that phrase could equal a large number of site visitors.
Remember that frequently the keyword phrases with the most amount of searches are often the most competitive also. That does not mean that you can never rank for them, only that it may take quite a lot of time.
A good strategy is to select a mix of difficult and easy to optimize terms. This will help get you a short term and long term focus.
The content contained on the pages of your site should be your next focus.
Try to use your chosen keywords into the various web pages. Despite the fact that one of the reasons for using your keywords in your site is for the search engines don’t forget that actual visitors will be viewing it.
The greater the number of pages you can add to your site the better. Every time you add new content you are attracting the search engines to frequently return and reindex your web site. This can increase the chances of getting you to page one for many more terms than the ones you are specifically focusing on.
Finally comes what is definitely the most critcal part. Every time another site points to your web site you are one step closer to being on page one. That does not mean getting just any kind of link from any site. They need to be from sites that are of the same theme to yours.
For example if your site is real estate oriented site then you will need to have a real estate search engine optimization strategy. This may include getting links from various real estate agent sites, blogs, or anything related to that topic. You should be more concerned with quality, not just quantity.
One of the premier ways to accomplish this is with article marketing. You create content in the form of articles. These can then be submitted to various directories for inclusion like Article Alley. Your site will get a link pointing back to it in return for handing out free content. This is step you should be doing a minimum of once a week.
You will slowly begin to see your site’s traffic and ranking soar. The greater the time period you optimize your site for the better your results will be. It could take some time and work however it is well worth it.

Free Traffic and Vital Elements of a Successful Website

Free Traffic and the 4 Vital Elements of a Successful Website

Let’s face it, anyone can build a website. There are countless companies out there offering a vast array of web building solutions, some good, some great, and some quite frankly are a complete waste of time! But throwing together a website is really only part of the story, only part of the process. There are literally, hundreds of thousands of web pages, that won’t ever be viewed and therefore stand no chance of commercial success. Some of those sites are relatively good; unfortunately their owners have misunderstood the process and have the cart before the horse…
In the online world no one just happens by your website, credit card in hand! If you’ve yet to build your website, or about to create a new site, stop! consider first exactly what you wish to achieve with that site, before you start. “Creating a website should follow a process proven to deliver a commercial end result… or run the risk of ending up, just another pretty picture in cyberspace!”
Fortunately there is a process, and I highly recommend you take a look at it… perhaps you already know it…
Content > Traffic > Pre-sell > Monetize
A time tested, 4 step process, proven to produce websites that deliver… commercially! Ok so, let’s now look briefly at each step and why they work in this particular order.
1. Numoro Uno, as always. Content. Very, very important. Building information-rich sites is crucial. You must have high quality, unique, relevant content on your site, A; because you want to attract visitors in the first place and B; to generate long term, search engine based free traffic.
Online, people are looking for solutions, for information that leads to solutions. They use the search engines to hunt for the most relevant facts to reach this end goal solution. Your job is therefore easy… give it to them… but don’t just plonk down any old garbage and hope for the best… take your time, put in the effort, provide good quality information that will over-deliver and keep your visitor interested, satisfy her need and you will be rewarded. Over time, gradually add new fresh, useful content and you will be creating web pages valued by humans and search engines alike. On the internet, high value content is king!
2. Traffic… Ahh! The Holy Grail… Much has been written on the subject, and many are making a good living providing (?) this elusive element.

Increased Web Traffic Guaranteed
Truth is, (excluding social media) there are but two ways to get it – you either pay for it, or you optimize for it. If you take the time to understand the basics, you can easily do both.
Paid search, (PPC) such as Google Adwords has its place, and can provide an immediate stream of targeted visitors to your website; however it is a study of its own and can, if not understood, be very costly very quickly! If you want to go that route learn with small amounts (of money) and don’t be tempted to throw good after bad… owch! been there!
Safer and arguably better, is optimization (SEO) for the organic results, as reached via a Google or other search engine search. This is simply intelligent website construction, a process anyone can do. The important point is, the optimization should be built in during the creative process, at the time you’re constructing the site; you are literally building your website to principles that make it search engine friendly, thus leading to high natural positions in organic search results, leading to of course, significant free traffic flow to your site
3. Don’t sell… Pre-sell. You have created a website with value rich content, and fully optimized its pages for indexing by Google (and other search engines)… Folks are arriving at your site as directed by their search results. You are keen to have them buy your goods or services, ready with your pitch… but wait! There’s another vital step in the process of converting your visitors into customers, and you’ve done half the work already…
Pre-selling is a warming up process, whereby you develop trust and confidence in your offering… it’s already well known that people are more willing to buy from those they like, trust or respect. By over-delivering relevant high value information, without appearing to be forcing a sale you will almost by default, create an atmosphere that inevitably leads to sales. Simple!
As far as your visitor is concerned, her needs are being met, his wishes are being fulfilled, you are providing the very information that is the solution to that which they are searching for in the first place. Pre-selling creates an open-to-buy mindset that smoothly introduces your visitors to your monetization offer.
4. Monetize. Ok thanks for sticking with me, here’s the home run… This is where you make your offering enticing by introducing and highlighting the many benefits of your product or service, and detailing exactly how it offers the solution to their predicament. You have paved the way with informative, relevant content and can now look to close with persuasive sales copy.
Your call to action should be strong and concise. Tell your prospect exactly what they need to do to order. If you have a good product, and you should, let them know exactly how they will benefit by ordering from you… Today!
So there it is… in brief… A formula simple, yet highly effective. Generate targeted free traffic via your highly optimized website, provide information packed content that offers solutions, warm up or pre-sell your visitors by over-delivering on the quality of that content, then and only then, monetize by introducing persuasive, benefit focused sales copy to convert pre-sold visitors into enthusiastic customers.

Search Engine Optimization for Newbies

Search Engine Optimization for Newbies

With so much information – and misinformation – available on the topic of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) it can be tricky trying to separate fact from fiction.
Coupled with the fact that SEO changes only slightly less rapidly than the weather, it can be downright overwhelming to know where to start.
So, if you’re an SEO newbie looking for a place to start, here’s a look at some Search Engine Optimization (SEO) basics. What Is SEO?
SEO3 Search Engine Optimization for Newbies
Even the most beautifully-designed site won’t do you much good if potential customers can’t find it. That’s where Search Engine Optimization (SEO) comes in: SEO helps ensure your site is more visible in the search engines, drive qualified traffic to your website, and convert that traffic into actual customers.
In short, SEO increases your website’s rankings in the search engines by making the pages within your site more attractive to the search engines. The more attractive your site is to Google, the higher its rankings in the search engine results pages. And the higher your rankings, the more likely users will visit your site. Obviously, a site with a result on Page 1 of Google is going to get more traffic than a site buried on Page 14.
If your site is missing from the top search results, then you may not be maximizing your ability to generate new business and add revenue to your bottom line. Let’s take a look at some stats:
* 1.3 billion Internet users
* Over 85% start at a search engine
* Less than 25% will go beyond the top 10 search engine results
* Top 10 results get 80% more traffic than those ranked in the 11-30 spots
Besides gaining better rankings in the search engines, SEO is effective in several other areas as well:
* Branding/establishment as an authority
* Pre-qualified lead generation
* Easily tracked ROI
* Cost savings compared to other mediums such as glossy brochures and yellow pages ads (average cost per lead is $0.29!)

Breaking SEO Down
SEO consists of several key elements that work together to generate increases in a website’s rankings, traffic and conversions: Keyword Selection, Copywriting, Link Building, HTML Optimization and Analytics. Let’s take a look at each element in more detail:
Keyword Selection
The foundation of any SEO campaign is good keyword research. That’s because targeting the right keywords is essential to getting your SEO on the right track. If your sell silver ladies watches, then you’re going to want to rank in the search engines for the phrase “silver ladies watches” and other similar phrases. If your keyword research is off and you target the wrong keywords, then you may not get visitors who want what your site has to offer. That’s why you need to make sure that your site is properly optimized for the most-searched-for keywords related to your business.
Copywriting
Getting potential customers to your site is only half the battle; you’ve got to convince them to buy. That’s where persuasive copywriting comes in. Be sure to tell people why they need your products or services and include conversion points throughout the site. The search engines like content, so you also need to optimize your copy to include your keywords. This includes things like descriptive product pages, built-out content like biographies, news sections, etc. One important point to remember is to keep your most critical content “above the fold” – that’s the area that’s visible to your users before they have to scroll down.
Link Building
Think popularity contests ended in high school? Think again; you’re not so lucky. Link building is like one big online popularity contest, and the search engines like the popular kids. Your success in the search engines depends, in part, on the amount of relevant incoming links to your site. Of course, having lots of good links also drives customers to your site, which is a good thing, too. Links can come in various sources, including directories, business partners, organizations, social media sites, and much, much more.
HTML Optimization
Title tags, header tags, Alt tags, Meta-descriptions — the search engines want your site’s HTML to be descriptive and clean. Search engines want to know exactly what your page is about; they don’t want to sort through a bunch of extraneous code to figure it out. That’s why you’ll hear SEO types talk about the importance of having clean code and how to use CSS to make that happen.
diagram seo Search Engine Optimization for Newbies
Measuring Success
No SEO campaign is complete without analytics. After all, if you aren’t measuring things like traffic, link popularity, and conversions, then how do you know if your SEO strategies are working? Programs like ClickTracks and Google Analytics help make the number-crunching a little easier. When analyzing an SEO campaign, it’s important to only make one change at a time so that you know which changes are effective.
If you want to have an effective SEO campaign, you need to include each of the five SEO elements listed above. Keep in mind the information here just scratches the surface of these topics, and there are certainly other more advanced SEO strategies that can benefit your site as well. These building blocks, however, are the perfect way to get your SEO campaign started on the right track.

Keyword Analysis
Knowing the right keywords and key phrases will make a huge difference in your website success. Utilizing quality keywords will be extremely beneficial for your SEO and PPC.
When does your site show up on Google and for what keywords? How well does it rank? Are your competitors listed above you?
If you want your site to show up on the search engines for a specific word or phrase, you need to start with a keyword analysis.
A keyword analysis provides the ability to identify the right words and phrases that prospects and customers are using to find your product or services online.
Through a variety of methods, we identify the best words and phrases that will get qualified visitors to your site:
* Analyze your site content
* Check your competitors site for the keywords and phrases they are using
* Research news feeds, blogs, and other relevant site for common keyword usage
* Define the words your prospects are searching for
Once we create our report for both your natural and organic rankings for Pay Per Click, we review this list with you to make the appropriate adjustments and refine the keyword list.
I assume that we all know the followings:
* Backlinks are very important for my/your/any blog
* Multiple backlinks with right keywords will get any blog ranked higher in searched (google mainly)
* We have a lot of bloggers here who appreciate good blog posts and would like to know about it
* Life is a zero sum game; we all need to give a little to get a little
So, I decided to have a weekly post with the following:
* I will choose one blog from the list of blogs that I read often or that you suggest
* I will communicate with that blogger with my intentions explaining my plan of postings somewhere between 5-7 links pointing his/her blog posts that I have enjoyed reading.
* I will also request to do the same for my blog
* I know that high PR is important but we always have to work your way up. So, I will start reviewing blogs those just started but have quality contents and best of all they will appreciate that single link more then bigger bloggers.
Things that I am looking from this project:
* I wanted to meet other bloggers and hopefully be friends.
Generate powerful backlinks by pointing out what I like the most about your blog (in your case, what you liked the most about mine or others).
* Create a systematic way to generate a dedicated # of backlinks and reviews every month. This process should take away my/your constant thinking of generating backlinks.
* I am value concision (as others say -cheap), so even though I can afford, I wanted to save some money by generating some FREE backlinks offering what I have on hand for FREE as well.
Things that you can do to be a make this plan a success and to enjoy its benefits:
* Post your blog link in your comment and so that I (along with others) can review it. You can also pm/email me a list of blogs posts that you think are better ones.
* Choose other blogs related to your niche and communicate with those blogger explaining your intension (may be you can also point out to this blog).
* Start following this process to generate backlinks for your blog.
* Review my idea at your blog to generate some support for this idea of FREE backlink generation through reviewing other blogs.
